Yamaha flies high as major sponsor of RNR9

For the ninth consecutive year, Yamaha Motor Australia in conjunction with Marina Bayside, Yamaha Motor Finance and Yamaha Marine Insurance, have proudly “stepped-up” as the major sponsor of the iconic Rip‘n Ride, to be held on October 21-22 in Cronulla, NSW. For nearly a decade this premier surf freeride event has been the highlight of the international calendar, with this year’s event expected to deliver the biggest and sickest freeride tricks from the World’s best freeriders.

Over 100 online entries sold out within minutes, when the 2016 Rip’n Ride 9 was announced on June 6, 2016.
Event Organiser, Gunther Pfrengle of Ozfreeride, proudly confirmed that the 2016 rider-entry list is once again a diverse international-mix of World-Champion level riders, with entries spanning from the USA, Europe, Asia and South America.

“Yamaha has been involved with the Rip’n Ride since it’s conception nearly a decade ago. It has proven to be the perfect platform for riders to come together and showcase their unique talents in a fun, safe and controlled environment,” said Grant Binskin, National Marketing Manager for Yamaha Marine Products.
“It’s also a great way for Yamaha to promote our unique Superjet model, a watercraft that has been the backbone of stand-up and freestyle sport-riding for over 20 years.”

Sticking with tradition, the annual Rip’n Ride will conclude with an after-party hosted by Northies Hotel, Cronulla on October 22. The award-presentation is set to award each entry with a sponsored prize, with the grand-prize of a brand-new Yamaha SuperJet valued at over $11,300.

The highly anticipated Yamaha Rip ‘N Ride 9 is set to kick-off at Cronulla NSW on October 21-22, 2016.
